The Administrative Assistant is responsible to the Executive Director of the agency. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director with communications and correspondence, maintaining the Contributions database, performing word processing of grants and other documents, and providing general secretarial support as requested or directed by the E.D.
The responsibilities of the position shall include but not be limited to: 1. Support Executive Director with communications, correspondence, and other administrative tasks 2. Generate monthly agenda for Board Meetings 3. Assisting in compiling presentation materials and grant request information 4. Maintain correspondence files 5. Maintain Contributions database 6. Generate donor acknowledgements 7. Perform document processing including grant applications, correspondence, Board materials, flyers/invitations related to special events, etc. 8. Coordinate bulk mailings 9. Assist in organizing annual events (Fundraiser, Board Dinner) 10. Provide general secretarial support as directed by Executive Director Qualifications: 1. Strong computer skills (proficiency with MS Office preferred) and familiarity with email and internet navigation 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 3. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision and to function as part of a team 4. Ability to multi-task and function both independently and as part of a team 5. Commitment to non-violence and diversity 6. Two-year degree or three years experience in an administrative support role preferred ATTENTION: Executive Director |

The Shelter Director is responsible to the Executive Director. The Shelter Director is responsible for supervising shelter staff and assisting with the supervision of students and volunteers. The Shelter Director will also provide basic coverage to the shelter and be able to facilitate groups.
The responsibilities of the position shall include but not be limited to: 1. Supervising students 2. Orienting and coordinating the supervision of volunteers and students at the shelter 3. Keep staff aware of needs and activities of volunteers/students 4. Provide scheduled supervision with appropriate staff 5. Provide emotional support groups for women residing in the shelter 6. Coordinate with Adult Counselor to meet needs of all residents and provide necessary record keeping 7. Assist in statistical collection 8. Ensure shelter coverage as needed 9. Coordinate weekend on call coverage 10. Provide case management (including assistance with housing issues) 11. Coordinate maintenance of building including fire & safety 12. Management of government foods, weekly groceries, etc. 13. Attend staff meetings 14. Responsible for assuring New York State Office of Family and Children's Services regulations are implemented 15. Accountability to funders 16. Supervision of all shelter staff Qualifications: 1. Advanced degree preferred, or Bachelors degree and two years experience, or Associates degree with five years experience in domestic violence 2. Ability to work as a team, problem solve 3.
