By joining forces, The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, the Dutchess County SPCA and the Grace Smith House, are sending a powerful message to the community and beyond to further comprehend the cycle of abuse and recognize the indicators of abuse and neglect of animals and humans.

The seminar served to heighten the public's awareness of the connection between violence toward humans and the abuse of animals, because the early recognition of the indicators of abuse can lead to quicker and safer response times, as well as reporting and appropriate referrals.
