October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
DVAM aims to:
Raise awareness about the prevalence and impact of domestic violence, which affects millions of Americans each year, including 1.3 million women and 835,000 men who experience physical violence by a partner annually.
Support survivors by sharing stories, providing resources, and fostering community solidarity.
Educate the public on recognizing signs of abuse and understanding the cycle of violence, including the psychological and emotional effects on victims.
Advocate for change through policy initiatives, community programs, and partnerships with organizations dedicated to ending domestic violence.
