The Red Flags Project is a new educational initiative to be held at the Clothesline Project this year. Raising awareness about relationship red flags is a vital aspect of domestic violence education and prevention. Red flags made by members of our community will be displayed at the Clothesline Project at the River Valley Arts Center. The goal of this project is to educate our community about the warning signs of abuse in relationships.
Similar projects have been displayed worldwide to increase awareness about domestic violence. This will be one of the first awareness campaigns of its kind in Dutchess County.
The red flags of abuse can be easy to overlook, explain away, or ignore -- but awareness of them can be life-saving. By learning about these red flags, community members will be able to recognize them in their own relationships, their loved ones’, and access available resources before abuse escalates.
Help us provide invaluable education about relationship violence and its subtle beginnings.
