Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. (DVAM) is observed in October to raise awareness about domestic violence, support survivors, and unite advocates in their efforts to end it. It was first recognized in 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (now merged with the National Domestic Violence Hotline). The month provides a platform to connect with survivors, acknowledge their experiences, and support efforts to end domestic violence. Watch for Grace Smith House events and activities throughout the month.
